Top 5 best things to do during the National Holidays!

Peru celebrates its 197th anniversary of independence and hundreds of people are already packing their bags to travel north, south and even to the Peruvian jungle in order not to get bored in the city. And you already have your plans? If you still do not know what to do to not get bored during these national holidays here we give you 5 ideas to make these holidays some that you will remember and why not repeat next year.

1.- Visit 1 of the wonders of the world and take a selfie with a flame

Visit Cusco if or if it should be in your plans, since this energy center will energize you so that you can return to your work renewed.

The best way to get to Cusco is by taking a flight from Lima that will take you no more than 1 hour, when landing you will receive a spectacular landscape of the Peruvian Andes and in the center of the city the remains of what were once the palaces of ancient Inca rulers. While visiting these places, take the opportunity to take a photo with a flame and then post it on your social networks.

From the city Cusco you can take a van that takes you to Ollantaytambo and from there take the train to Aguas Calientes where we recommend you rest, for the next day climb to the Wonder of the World - Machu Picchu - and be able to tour its impressive buildings.

2.- Visit the Mountain of Colors and let your eyes relax

Another good alternative to visit Cusco, is the mountain of colors. Which as a whim of nature will delight your eyes with picturesque colors that resemble the Rainbow.

You can visit this in a single day and even on your own taking a ride to the town of Pampachiri and then take a 2-hour walk to the Vinicunca viewpoint, from where you can see this spectacular carpet of colors.

3.- Jungle, nature and total relaxation

If nature and heat are your thing, visiting the Peruvian jungle is a very good alternative.

Take advantage of these days to know the Tambopata reservation in Madre de Dios, you just have to take a flight that takes you to Puerto Maldonado and upon your arrival leave the rest to us.

During the trip to our ecolodge you will enjoy the breeze of the Madre de Dios River and the diversity of flora and fauna of the place. You will meet the sleepers river otters and with some luck the enigmatic Otorongo or Jaguar.

4.- Nothing with sea lions

If you are not lucky enough to have a long holiday and you want to stay in Lima, you do not have to go home boring watching the military stop on TV.

Just go to the district of La Punta in Callao and board one of our boats that will take you through the history of the coast of Lima, you will know an old prison and if the tide helps us you can also appreciate a city submerged in the sea, Camotal or the Peruvian Atlantis.

To finish you can swim very close to the funny sea lions in the Palomino Islands.

5.- Gastronomic fairs,! To eat has been said!

There is no doubt that Peruvian cuisine is one of the best and we can not miss the opportunity to try dishes from the coast, mountains and jungle in one place and at really comfortable prices.

In cities such as Cusco, Arequipa and Lima fairs are held where all kinds of food are exhibited and prepared and one of these fairs is the Invita Peru that takes place in the Exhibition Park from July 21st to 29th, enjoy the best of Peruvian gastronomy.
