How to get?

The trip takes about 2 hours to the town of Ollantaytambo, which is a small town that still retains its streets in the same Inca style for what is known as "The Inca Living City". In this town you will find the train station that will take you to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), the trip is by train and lasts an average of 2 hours.
Once you get to Machu Picchu town in front of the train station you will find the bus station that will take you to the entrance gate of the citadel of Machu Picchu, the journey takes 30 minutes and goes by a zigzag path with a Beautiful view of the Urubamba Valley. (You can buy tickets for the bus in Cusco or in the same bus station).
Note* Also you can spend one night in Machu Picchu town and visit next day the Citadel of Machu picchu calmly.
Upon arrival at the citadel of Machu Picchu you must present your entry ticket as well as your identity document or passport (you can stamp your visit, if you wish for free), we recommend you visit with a professional guide who will explain the history from this enigmatic place, inside Machu Picchu do not forget to visit the area of "The Guardian House" point where you can appreciate the whole citadel and take the much longed for postcard picture.
After your visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu you can go down to Machu Picchu town to have lunch or visit the hot springs in order to relax.
The return will also be taking the train to Ollantaytambo and at the exit of the station of this town to board a bus that brings you back to Cusco.
