Recommendations
Wear comfortable clothing in layers. The weather can change rapidly; mornings and nights can be chilly, while days are often warm.
Wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for the floating islands, as the reed surfaces can be uneven or slippery.
Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, as the high altitude of Lake Titicaca intensifies UV rays.
Carry a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the tour. The altitude can increase your body\'s need for fluids.
Don\'t forget to bring your camera or mobile phone with a full battery and plenty of storage to capture the unique beauty of the islands and their inhabitants.
Be respectful of the Uros people\'s customs and traditions. Always ask for permission before taking photographs of people or their homes.
Carry some cash if you wish to purchase local handicrafts. The islands are famous for their exquisite hand-woven textiles, and it is a wonderful way to support the community.
Keep the contact information for your tour guide and travel agency handy for any emergencies or additional coordination needs.
Consider bringing medication or natural remedies for altitude sickness, such as coca leaves or coca tea, as Lake Titicaca is located at a very high elevation.
Maintain an open and curious attitude. The Uros have a rich and fascinating culture, and your experience will be much more enriching if you engage and learn from them.
Do not leave trash on the islands. Carry a small bag to collect your waste and help keep this unique environment clean.
Check and comply with the tour departure times to ensure you do not miss your transportation to the islands.
