Itinerary Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Día 1: Cusco - Chillca - km-82 - Wayllabamba
You’ll be picked up at your hotel in Cusco between 5:00 - 6:00am and transported to Km 82 by tourist-class bus. During this trip we’ll be delighted with the views of the Sacred Valley, Urubamba river, extensive crop fields and Inca places such as Ollantaytambo until we arrive to the spot where we’ll start the trek.
The first journey will takes about 5 to 6 hours passing through a beautiful valley near the river Urubamba, we can appreciate some local people grazing their cattle. Then we will arrive at a viewpoint where we can appreciate the archaeological group of Llactapata to admire its formidable construction that stands out for its drainage system and agricultural platforms. We will continue ourtrek until we arrive at our lunch place surrounded by an incredible scenery and we will finish our journey of the day passing through the town of Hatunchaca and arriving at Huayllabamba place where a delicious dinner and our first campsite awaits for us.
Día 2: Wayllabamba - Pacaymayu
We will have breakfast very early at 5.00am to start our hike, we will ascend slowly until we reach Yunca Chimpa where we will have a short break. We’ll continue our trek up until Llulluchapampa. This will be the first steep climb, so we will have a well deserved rest. From this place we continue ascending a little more until arriving at the Warmihuañusca pass (4215 masl) from where we will have breathtaking views.
Then we will start descending to the valley of Pacaymayo (3600masl), a completely magical landscape. Here we will enjoy lunch, dinner and a campsite in Runcuracay sharing with the rest of the group.
Día 3: Pacaymayu - Wiñayhuayna
After enjoying our breakfast, we will start the hike, within our tour we will appreciate the interesting archaeological sites of Runcurakay, Sayacmarca, Conchamarca, Puyupatamarca and ending with the visit of Wiñayhuayna. All of them are unique and original architectural centers that show the great intelligence of the Incas.
The journey will last from 6 to 7 hours of trekking approximately, we will make a stop to enjoy the lunch accompanied by a panoramic view of the region's impressive snowy peaks and cloud forests. Arriving at Wiñayhuayna we will enjoy a delicious dinner and our last camp.
Día 4: Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco
5:00 am we will take our breakfast and walk for an hour and a half to reach Intipunku from where we will have views of the archaeological park of Machu Picchu in its maximum splendor.
Once we are in Machu Picchu we will visit every important sector with the interesting explanation of our guide, then we will have time to explore more on our own.
In the afternoon we will return to Cusco, first bus to the village of Machu Picchu, then we will take the train to Ollantaytambo and tourist transportation until arriving at Cusco.
There is the option of staying overnight in the village of Machu Picchu to rest and get to know this nice little town.
