If you prefer a shorter option, or do not have enough time, explore the 2-day Inca Trail. Dare to live this unique adventure in South America!

Day 1: Cusco - Km 82- Llactapata - Wayllabamba

We will begin our exciting 4-day Inca Trail adventure by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco at 6:00 AM. Get ready for a day full of wonders as we head to Km 82 in our comfortable tourist transport! We will pass through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas, with its breathtaking landscapes.

Once at Km 82, our first lunch awaits us. After all group members register at the checkpoint with their ID, we will begin our trek along the Inca Trail. We will be accompanied by our incredible porters, known as "Huayruros," recognizable by their traditional red ponchos from the area.

We will hike through fertile valleys, with stunning views of the snow-capped La Verónica mountain and the Urubamba River, until we reach the ancient Inca city of Llactapata, strategically located high in the valley to control the region. After a short guided tour, we will continue our trek for approximately an hour and a half until we reach our first campsite in Wayllabamba.

Here, you can relax and enjoy a comforting coca tea before dinner, which will be served at 19:00 hours. It is the perfect time to share stories and energy with fellow travelers as you prepare for the exciting path ahead. Welcome to the Inca Trail adventure!

We will start the day early, at 6:00 AM, to get ready and enjoy a delicious breakfast in our comfortable dining tent. Today will be the most challenging day of our journey, as we will ascend from the picturesque village of Wayllabamba (at 3,000 msnm) to the highest point, the Warmihuañusca Pass (also known as Dead Woman's Pass), at 4,200 msnm. This climb will take us about 4 to 5 hours, depending on the weather and the pace of the group.

Once at Warmihuañusca, we will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Sacred Valley and the Urubamba Valley. Afterward, we will continue our trek, this time descending for approximately an hour and a half until we reach our second campsite in Pacaymayu.

Here, we will enjoy a restorative lunch, leaving the afternoon free to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscapes that surround us. In the evening, we will share an interesting dinner with our fellow travelers. Get ready to experience unforgettable moments on this incredible trip!

We will wake up with enough time to freshen up and pack our backpacks before enjoying a pleasant breakfast. During this time, our guide will provide a brief talk about the activities planned for the day.

We will set off on a hike along a perfectly preserved section of the Inca Trail, exploring the fascinating archaeological centers of Runkurakay and Sayacmarka, important vestiges of the Inca era. During lunch, surrounded by majestic mountains, we will recharge our energy to continue our way toward Phuyupatamarka, known as the "city above the clouds," from where we will enjoy spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks of the Peruvian Andes.

After this impressive landscape, we will descend for approximately 2 hours until we reach Wiñayhuayna, one of the best-preserved archaeological centers, surrounded by a lush tropical forest where we can admire a wide variety of plants, including some orchids.

In Wiñayhuayna, you will have the option to enjoy a warm shower for a very affordable cost—only about 3 dollars! In the evening, we will delight in an enjoyable dinner and collect tips for our incredible porters, who have accompanied us with such effort throughout the journey. Get ready to experience unforgettable moments in this unique Inca Trail experience!

We have reached the exciting fourth and final day of our adventure!

We will start early, at 4:00 AM, with a tasty breakfast and getting ready to explore the enigmatic citadel of Machu Picchu. At approximately 5:30 AM, we will head through the tropical cloud forest toward Inti Punku (the Sun Gate), arriving after an hour-and-a-half hike. We will enter Machu Picchu around 8:00 AM, where we will enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the citadel's most prominent sites.

Once the guided excursion is over, you will have free time to explore and take photos on your own, or to visit Huayna Picchu mountain if you booked in advance. During the guided tour, the meeting point and time in the town of Aguas Calientes will be established to board the return train to Ollantaytambo without worries. In Ollantaytambo, our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco. The arrival time in Cusco will depend on the train schedule. Get ready to live this experience with unforgettable memories and emotions running high!
