Day 1: Cusco - Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes)
In the morning, we will transfer you from your hotel in Cusco to the train station in Ollantaytambo (1:30 hours), where you will board the train to Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes). Along the way, you will experience the spectacular natural beauty and abundant vegetation of the area, with the journey lasting approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival in the charming town, we will head to your reserved accommodation, and you will have the afternoon free to explore the town on your own or visit the local hot springs.
(Note: Departure time depends on train ticket availability, so pickup times may vary.)
Day 2: Visit to Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco
Very early in the morning, we will take the bus from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu archaeological site. At this Inca site, you will marvel at its enigmatic beauty and unparalleled architecture and hydraulic engineering. The guide will provide a 2-hour tour of the site, explaining the significance of each sector and the historical legacy of the impressive citadel. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore independently and take photos.
We will then take the bus back to Machu Picchu Town, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch (not included in the price), before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a bus will be waiting to take you to Cusco.
