Lares trek to Machu Picchu 5 days / 4 nights
Hike to Lares and Tour to Machu Picchu, a 5-day journey, will immerse you in the majestic mountains and lakes of Peru. You will encounter a rich array of wildlife and diverse vegetation typical of the Andes region.
The excursion through the Lares Valley offers a combination of stunning landscapes from the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the high Andean valleys, traditional cultures of Andean communities, experiences with locals wearing traditional attire, and a fascinating visit to the magnificent Machu Picchu sanctuary to explore its treasures, all on a moderate hike.
Day 1: Cusco - Huaran - Cancha Cancha
At 6:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to board our transportation and head toward Huaran. Along the way, we will stop at a viewpoint to observe the renowned Pisac Archaeological Center, and we will also see various traditional villages of the Sacred Valley such as Pisac, Coya, Lamay, and Calca. The journey will take approximately one and a half hours.
Once we arrive at the Huaran Ravine (Quebrada de Huaran), we will begin our uphill hike. At a steady, slow pace, we will observe local crops, rock formations, and native birds until we reach the community of Cancha Cancha. Here, the local residents will share their traditions and way of life with us. We will spend the night at a campsite.

From here, we will take in an unparalleled landscape featuring lagoons, rivers, waterfalls, typical Andean vegetation, and the snow-capped peaks of the Urubamba Mountain Range—a perfect spot for many photos.
After witnessing this incomparable scenery, we will begin our descent toward the community of Quiswarani, where we will have dinner and set up camp for the night.

There, we will delight in the beautiful landscapes, featuring lagoons filled with birds, the Colque Cruz snow-capped peak, and clouds rolling over the mountains—something truly magical.
A little later, we will begin our descent toward the community of Cuncani, a high Andean village where everything remains traditional; the houses are built of stone and mud with thatched roofs, and all the residents wear typical traditional dress.
