Cotahuasi Canyon traditional 4 days

The day begins with breakfast at the hotel and departure from Cotahuasi toward the town of Taurisma, crossing the Cotahuasi River via a suspension bridge and appreciating natural landscapes, ancient cedars, and a colonial church.

Next, we will visit the towns of Tomepampa and Alca, known for their colonial architecture, agriculture, and local traditions.

We will ascend an Inca stone staircase path to Cahuana, where we can appreciate pre-Inca terraces and landscapes. We will arrive at the Luicho thermal baths to enjoy a good lunch and relax in the hot springs. Return to Cotahuasi.

Night in Cotahuasi

The day begins with breakfast and departure toward the deepest part of the Cotahuasi Canyon, appreciating the Colcan and Piro countrysides along the way, as well as the geological richness of the area.

We will visit the Sipia Waterfall, with a drop of 150 meters. Then, we will hike through canyon landscapes, passing through traditional villages until reaching the Judiopampa Cactus Forest, a habitat for various species of flora and fauna.

Then arrival at the town of Velinga, where we will have lunch and spend a night. We will visit attractions such as the Ayahuasi ruins, viewpoints, fruit crops, the eco-museum, and the Valle Bello winery for an organic wine tasting.

Después del desayuno en Velinga, se realiza una caminata de 30 minutos para abordar el transporte de retorno a Cotahuasi, donde se almuerza.

Por la tarde se visitan los principales atractivos de Cotahuasi, como la Laguna Chaquicocha, iglesias coloniales, el Campanario Santa Ana y casas tradicionales. A las 6:00 p.m. se inicia el viaje de regreso a Arequipa, llegando aproximadamente a las 3:00 a.m.
