Day 1: Cusco – Huchuy Qosqo

The tour will start in Cusco, we’ll pick you up in  our touristic transportation around 6:00 am and we will head to Tambomachay, place where the trek starts to Huchuy Qosqo. In the tour we can watch high andean villages, the Qoricocha lake (lake of gold) that attracts different types of ducks, trouts, and in the surroundings llamas, alpacas, sheeps and others. Also we will pass through Pampamarca, a viewpoint  from where we can appreciate the marvelous landscapes of all the Sacred Valley.

Continuing with the ascendant hike, we’ll get to León Punku that has rocky formations. Finally we’ll get to Huchuy Qosqo, where we’ll enjoy dinner and camp.

Overview:

We’ll start between 6 and 7 am heading to Tambomachay, from where we’ll begin to walk passing through small villages, lakes, rocky formations and watching beautiful landscapes, until we get to Huchuy Qosqo where we’ll camp.

Very early after having breakfast we’ll have a tour through this amazing archeological site with our guide. The peculiarity of this site is that it was built adobe foundations of polished stone with fine details and high floors made of adobe, also it is believed that was one of the favourite places of Inca Wiracocha because the mommy of this inca was found there. Also we’ll see a huge plaza and lots of stone terraces.

When we finish this exciting visit we’ll continue a descending trek for 2 hours until we get to Lamay in the Sacred Valley, place where we’ll have lunch and we’ll take a touristic transportation heading to Ollantaytambo. Here we’ll take the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes. Once we are in this small town located between giant mountains we’ll be waited to take us to the reserved hostal.

Overview:

In this fascinating day we’ll get to know this archeological center, exploring each of the buildings and admiring its perfection, we’ll walk down hill until we get to the town of Lamay, where the transportation we’ll wait for us and will take us to Ollantaytambo. Later on we’ll take a train to Aguas Calientes.

After taking breakfast in the hotel, we’ll head to the bus station to get on the bus that will takes as to the marvelous archeological complex of Machu Picchu, where we’ll know each of the complex buildings with our guide. We can take lots of photos before returning to the town with the same name to have lunch.

In the evening we’ll get on the train that will take us to Ollantaytambo and afterwards the touristic transportation to Cusco in a hole trip of 4 hours approximately. (The hour of arrival to Cusco city will vary depending on the tickets of the train).

Our last day we’ll visit one of the wonders of the world “Machu Picchu” in a guided visit knowing its complex and interesting buildings and taking the desired photographies. Afterwards we’ll return to the town of Aguas Calientes, next the train to Ollantaytambo and finally a touristic transportation to Cusco.
