Itinerary The Charm of Cajamarca
Day 1: Arrival and Colonial Legacy
Upon arrival in Cajamarca, guests are warmly welcomed by a host who assists with transfer and hotel check-in. The morning is free for acclimatization.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic center, including the main square, colonial churches, the Ransom Room—the final stronghold of Inca Atahualpa, the Belén Monumental Complex, and end the day with panoramic views from Santa Apolonia Hill.
Day 2: Sustainable Communities and Rural Traditions
Begin the day with a visit to Granja Porcón, a sustainable cooperative where visitors can see stone-carving workshops, vast reforested pine forests, and a mini-zoo housing native species.
In the afternoon, explore the historic La Colpa hacienda, famous for calling cows by name. Then, visit Llacanora, a peaceful Andean village known for its well-preserved architecture and traditional way of life.
Day 3: Natural Wonders and Archaeological Gems
Today’s journey starts at Cumbemayo, a mysterious archaeological site surrounded by a forest of stone columns. Discover the Frailones, ancient ceremonial altars, pre-Inca aqueducts, and stunning natural rock formations.
In the afternoon, continue to Otuzco to see the Ventanillas, pre-Hispanic funerary niches carved into volcanic rock. The tour ends with a relaxing stroll through the Hydrangea Garden and a visit to the renowned Los Alpes dairy shop in Tres Molinos.
Day 4: Guitars, Lakes and Local Craftsmanship in Namora (Optional)
