Amazon River Tour: The Macaw Program (4 Days / 3 Nights). This program is perfect for travelers who are true nature lovers. Come and join us in our jungle and let your spirit enjoy the tranquility, fresh air, natural beauty, and the melodious sounds of the Amazon rainforest. During our 4-day, 3-night journey, we will navigate the Amazon River while taking in fascinating views of the humid jungle and its riverside villages. You will have the opportunity to experience life with a native tribe who will share their customs and way of life; we will also encounter various species of birds, fish, mammals, and wild plants.


Day 1: Iquitos – Cumaceba Amazon Lodge

Reception at the Iquitos city airport. Walking City Tour, depending on the arrival time. Transfer to the private pier to board our fast boat. Visit to the floating houses from November to July. Navigation on the Amazon River, observing the different riverside villages. Typical welcome drink upon arrival at Cumaceba Amazon Lodge. Assignment of private cabins.

Typical lunch in the afternoon. We will explore the Amazon rainforest on a guided hike, discovering medicinal flora, giant trees, and having an unforgettable experience with squirrel monkeys in their natural habitat, accompanied by a beautiful Amazonian sunset.

In the evening, after dinner, a night canoe ride through the Shansho Lagoon in search of caimans. Amazonian myths and legends at the lodge.

We begin with a morning hike for bird watching. After breakfast, recreational fishing for piranhas and other species using traditional techniques.

In the afternoon, we will search for pink and gray dolphins—a unique experience. Depending on weather conditions, we will enjoy an Amazonian sunset.

We will begin in the morning with a canoe ride through the Shansho Lagoon to observe the Hoatzin or Shansho, the most colorful "prehistoric bird" of the Amazon. Afterward, we will enjoy a hearty breakfast.

Next, we will navigate toward the "Monkey Island" private project, a sanctuary that conserves more than 5 endangered primate species: the howler monkey (coto), the woolly monkey (choro), the titi monkey (tocón), the spider monkey (maquizapa), and the squirrel monkey. Jungle hike. Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, a cultural visit to the Yagua native community, where we will learn about their customs, traditional clothing, ancestral dances, dialect, and the handmade production of their art. Demonstration of the use of the blowgun (traditional hunting weapon) and target practice.

After dinner, we will have a night canoe ride on the Amazon. Overnight at Cumaceba Amazon Lodge.

Breakfast. Boat ride to visit the butterfly farm, where you can learn about the reproductive cycle of these insects, including the legendary Blue Morpho, considered one of the most beautiful butterflies in the world. Return to the lodge for lunch.

At the scheduled time, return to Iquitos. Transfer to the airport or hotel.
