This exciting adventure starts between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning, we pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa (The White City).
We will board our private 4x4 vehicle and we will take the Chiguata tourist route, 1 hour and a half by car, until we reach the point where our trek begins, located at 3300 masl.
We will start the trek slowly ascending for approximately 5 or 6 hours. This route has a spectacular landscape, with stilts and its traditional houses made of stone.
Finally we will arrive at the base camp, where we’ll have lunch/dinner, around 4:00pm while our guide tells us about his experiences, and some stories of the volcano. We will have to go to bed early to prepare our body for the next day.
We will get up at dawn like 2:00am, have a refreshing breakfast and start our climb trek through the summit for 5 or 6 hours until reaching 5825 masl, where the volcano crater is. We will observe its large fumaroles up close, while we can also appreciate the impressive landscape from above, the surrounding valleys and the city of Arequipa. We will take many photos and it will be time to start our return.
We will descend to the base camp for an hour and a half, pack and continue descending to the point, where we will wait for our transportation that will take us to the city of Arequipa arriving around 2:00pm.
