Through the typical streets of Arequipa
At 9:00 AM, we will begin our charming tour by picking you up from your hotel in Arequipa. Accompanied by our experienced guide, you will discover the historical and architectural treasures of this fascinating city. We will explore the Plaza de Armas, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can admire the grand porticoes surrounding it and the majestic bronze fountain at its center.
Next, we will visit the impressive Cathedral Basilica, built from volcanic sillar stone. It is one of the city's oldest and most emblematic religious monuments. Our tour includes the Church of the Society of Jesus, renowned for its mestizo architecture that combines indigenous and colonial elements. Discover the beauty and history of the Church of San Francisco, another testament to Arequipa's rich colonial heritage. Explore the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries, where you will learn about the "Juanita" mummy, an Inca girl sacrificed over 500 years ago. We will then head to Casa Tristan del Pozo, a historic mansion now housing a bank and art gallery, blending the old with the contemporary. We will conclude our tour at Casa Del Moral, one of the best-preserved colonial mansions in Arequipa, famous for its architecture and history.
