Our tour will begin with pickup from your hotel in Lima between 9:00 and 9:30 in the morning. The first stop will be the ancient pyramid temple known as Huaca Pucllana. This grand structure made of adobe and clay is located in the Miraflores district, surrounded by modern buildings.
From there, we will proceed to Lima's historic center, which is officially a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will see the Republican Plaza of San Martín before heading to the Plaza de Armas of the city, where we will admire the imposing Government Palace and the grand baroque facade of the cathedral. The plaza is surrounded by the beautiful porticoes of Escribanos and Botoneros, and in the middle, we will see the Salvatierra Fountain made of bronze.
Next, we will visit the “Convento de San Francisco”, where we will walk through its cloisters and temples, appreciate the impressive library of ancient texts, and explore the Catacombs. In the early centuries of the city, these served as the only sacred cemetery in Lima. Although no longer in use, they attract many tourists daily due to their unusual but beautiful designs where the bones have been arranged.
After this visit, we will pass through the modern district of San Isidro on our way to the “Parque del Amor” in Miraflores, where we will view a sculpture of a kissing couple which gives the place its name, inspired by Gaudí's designs. We will also enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean to conclude our adventure.
