Upon your arrival in Iquitos we will pick you up from the airport or your hotel, if there is time we will do a city tour, (otherwise there is the option to do it at the end of the program). Then we will head to the port to board a fast boat, bound for the lodge, enroute along the Amazon River we will observe the floating houses (only in the months of November to July) and the amazing junction of the Amazon with the Itaya River. We will make a short stop to observe Paiches in a hatchery, we will also observe the huge aquatic lily Victoria-Regia, and then we will rest briefly to enjoy a drink. We will continue on our boat until arriving at the Lodge that counts with a fascinating Swimming pool.
After the assignment of the bungalows, we will hike through the jungle observing various wild and medicinal plants, and their uses; We will return to the hostel for lunch and relax until 3:00 pm. Then we will make a new trek until we reach the native community of the Yaguas where we will share a few time with them, while they teach us their customs and traditions, when we return to our hostel we will observe the sunset over the Amazon, we will dine, and it will be time to rest.
Before breakfast we will go to observe birds in a morning walk or boat (this will depend on the season), we will return to to the lodge to enjoy a breakfast. Then we will hike through the jungle in order to observe the typical trees of this part of the jungle, as Ceiba a huge tree with tabular roots. Then we will be back in the lodge, and have a typical lunch.
In the afternoon we will go on an excursion on the Amazon River to visit the artisan Trapiche, which is used to extract the juice from the sugarcane, the people from there will make us a demonstration and we will even be able to participate in the extraction of the juice of cane, which is used by them to make rum or molasses. Then we will go fishing on the river, something fun, we will return to the lodge and at night we will take a canoe trip or walk (depending on the season) in order to hear the sound of birds and typical nocturnal insects in the Jungle, we will observe some tarantulas.
We will finally have dinner before resting.
To finish the program, after breakfast, we will take a boat that will take us to a riverside cabin, which is an animal rescue center, where we’ll see some species such as: turtles, sloths, anacondas, parrots, toucans, etc.
Later we will return to our lodge, for lunch and then we will board the boat that will take us back to Iquitos arriving around 2 pm. And we will drop you off at your hotel or airport depending on your itinerary.
