At 8:00 am starts our adventure picking you up at your hotel in Arequipa, we’ll go on our 4x4 vehicle approximately 3 hours, towards the starting point of our trek. We’ll begin the walk gradual ascent. On the way we will see the Aguada Blanca dam located at 4300 meters above sea level, we’ll have extensive views of this beautiful place, which supplies water to the entire city of Arequipa. This also is the favorite resting place of a lot of birds, including the pariwanas or flamingos. It will be a 3 hrs walk to reach our base camp, located at 4800m altitude. Upon arrival, we will settle and enjoy a delicious lunch / dinner at 4:00 pm approximately.
In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to share with the rest of the group, and our guide will share stories about Misti and Chachani volcanoes. We should rest early to prepare our body for the next day trip.
Very early, at 1:00 am will begin our journey to the volcano, after taking our breakfast we’ll start climbing the summit. The route will take between 6 and 7 hours to reach the crater (5825 m) where the fumaroles are located.
From there we will have spectacular views of the city of Arequipa and the surrounding valley. Shortly after, it's time to return, it will take two hours to reach the base camp and 1 hour more to get to the point where we expect the shuttle to take us back to Arequipa.
We’ll end the tour arriving to Arequipa between 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm.
