We will start the day by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco between 3:30 am and 4:00 am and drive you to the Ollantaytambo train station (approx. 2 hours). There, you will board the tourist train heading to Machu Picchu, but you will only travel as far as Kilometer 104 (approx. 1:30 hours). This is where the hike begins. After passing the control point, you will visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba, believed to have been constructed for religious purposes. You will continue the hike until reaching the first rest stop, where you can enjoy some snacks surrounded by an incredible natural environment.
Continue to the archaeological site of Wiñayhuayna, a beautiful Inca construction that served various purposes, and is the place along the Inca Trail where the most species of flora can be seen. After this fascinating visit, we'll regain our energy by enjoying a nutritious box lunch surrounded by the beauty of mountains full of vegetation. You will continue along the trail to Intipunku, where you'll have a spectacular view of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Finally, you'll descend on foot to Aguas Calientes, where you'll spend the night in the reserved accommodation
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head to the bus station to access the Machu Picchu citadel (30 minutes). Once there, our experienced guide will lead a 2-hour tour, explaining the history of this impressive archaeological gem, believed to have been the resting place of Pachacútec, the ruler of the Inca Empire.
After the visit, you'll return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch and to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our tourist transport will be waiting to take you to the city of Cusco.
