Tambopata is a district that is part of the Department of Madre de Dios, whose capital is Puerto Maldonado located near the border with Bolivia and Brazil. It is a place where you can appreciate the richness in biodiversity.
98% of its territory is virgin forest, and is the place with the lowest population density in Peru.
The National Reserve Tambopata works to conserve the humid tropical forest, its flora and fauna. The basin of the Tambopata River represents one of the largest biodiversity areas on the planet.
This reserve has different ecosystems such as riparian forests, marshes, pacales and aguajales.
This place turns out to be whereabouts of more than 40 species of migratory birds. It is an ideal tourist destination for the observation of flora and fauna.
