The city of Puno is considered the capital of Peruvian folklore, located in the southern part of the country on the shores of Lake Titicaca famous for being the highest navigable lake in the world.
In this city you will be able to live and learn from the traditional culture, customs and dances of Peru.
Puno is a city located at approximately 3800 masl. It has a cold and dry climate, also has two marked seasons, the rainy season and the dry season.
In Lake Titicaca we can find approximately 36 islands, and the largest are Uros, Taquile and Amantani.
Puno was a settlement located in the area of the Qollas in the north and the area of the Lupacas in the South.
During the colony the Viceroy Conde de Lemos turned to Puno in the capital of Paucarcolla. As in every city there were rebellions and fights against the conquerors by which heroes like Tupac Katari emerged.
Nowadays Puno has developed remarkably, it is a place where the commerce is the most important economic activity followed of the activity of the tourism.
