Inti Raymi 2010: Cusco - Peru
Every year on June 24,
Cusco celebrates the festival of the sun, known as
"Inti Raymi". This feast was celebrated by the
Incas as the feast of the sun, where they honor the sun god Wiracocha. The
Inti Raymi symbolizes the union between the sun and their children (humans).
Inti Raymi was the most important holiday of
Tawantinsuyo empire ruled by the Inca, who based their religion in worship of the sun.
