Itinerary:
First Day.- Cusco (82 km.) Llulluchapampa
We start our trip in the early morning. We pick you up from your hostel and drive down to the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, about 82 km. from the train line to Machu Picchu. From there is where the hike begins, and 5 hours later we arrive at the campsite named Llulluchapampa at 3600 m. From the campsite you can see incredible views of a group of mountains named Huayanaes.
Second Day.- Llulluchapampa - Huarmiwañusca Pass - Phuyupatamarka
On this day we continue climb to the highest point in the trip, not far from the campsite. It take two hours to arrive to Warmiwañusca (this means in Quechua “where the woman dies”), which is at an altitude of 4200 m. We descend immediately down to Pacaymayo, and from this point the true Inka Trail begins. We continue climbing until we arrive at Runcurakay. This archeological site of the Inkas includes the building style of torreones, which is common throughout the valley. This day we will continue on to Phuyupatamarka (this means "on top of the clouds").
Third Day.- Phuyupatamarka - Wiñayhuayna
After visiting the Inka complex we continue to descend down a trail to Wiñayhuayna, another marvelous complex where we will spend the night. This trek takes about 4 hours.
Fourth Day.- Wiñayhuayna - Machupicchu - Cusco
Very early in the morning we continue trekking down the trail to Machu icchu , in two hours we will have arrived to Inti Punku ( this means “The Sun Gate”). From there we will have the impressive sight of the majestic Machu Picchu.
