Inca Trail Hike 2D/1N

Description :

This is a short but pleasant walk during which you will visit the archaeological sites of Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna and archaeological works that were of great importance at the time of the Incas. The area is also rich in vegetation and wildlife.

To complete the tour, you will visit the incredible archaeological site of Machu Picchu.

Itinerary :

day 01: cusco - km104 - aguas calientes

You will be collected from your accommodation at 06:20 hrs and be taken to San Pedro station to catch a train to 104-km. Throughout the journey you will see typical Peruvian villages, valleys with rivers and impressive glaciers. You will start the walk from 104-km visiting the archaeological site of Chachabamba and then of Wiñayhuayna, both magnificant Inca ruins.

During this tour you will enjoy a packed lunch and continue walking to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will enjoy dinner and camp overnight. Here you can also visit the thermal baths if you wish.

Day 02 : aguas calientes - machu picchu - aguas calientes - cusco

After an early breakfast, you will hike for about an hour and a half, observing along the way a variety of vegetation such as orchids and ferns. Arriving at Machu Picchu, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the hydraulic and architectural wonder of the world. After a 2 hour tour, you will have free time to explore and enjoy the full measure of this place. You will return by bus to Aguas Calientes where you will catch the afternoon train back to Cusco.
