Bike to Manu Park

Our tour begins with the pick up at your hotels at 08:00 a.m. We will leave Cusco in our private bus and head on the road to Pisac with the destination Paucartambo. After an one and a half our journey we will reach the Chawaitiry Pass (4,800m). At this place we will begin our downhill bike tour. Once we travelled approximately 3 hours we will take a break and have lunch. In the afternoon we will reach Paucartambo, a picturesque village, which is world wide known for the fiesta de la virgin del Carmen (the fiesta of the Virgin Carmen). Here we will set up our camp for the night and have dinner.

After breakfast we will continue our bike adventure to the Acjanaco Pass (3,500m). We will reach our destination within two and a half hours. Here we will have lunch and receive an explication about the impressive change of the countryside we are able to see at this place. Then we will begin our descent to the cloud forest of San Pedro, where we will arrive around 05:00 p.m. At this place we can observe the impressive mating dance of the national Bird of Peru, el Gallito de las Rocas (the cock of the rocks), Rupicola Peruviana. There we will be finishing our journey for the day, set up our camp and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Very early after breakfast we will begin our tour by bus or transport to the village Pillcopata. There we will take a break and prepare our equipment for a canoe tour on the River with the same name (Pillcopata). Our Guide will give us safety instructions as well as the necessary equipment (life jackets, lifesavers, helmets, paddles etc.) We will go on an approximately 2 hour tour to Atalaya. Along the way we can observe the diversity of existing flora and fauna in this region. We will be able to see birds, such as cormorants, Martin pescadors etc. Our tour on the Pillcopata River will end in the village Atalaya. Here you can decide, if you wish to continue the tour to the National Reservoir of Manu or if you wish to return to Cusco, where you will arrive around 06:00 p.m.
